Default Re: Pairs of DNA

G and A are purines, they have 2 rings
C and T are pyrimidines, single ringed

G:C has 3 hydrogen bonds
while A:T has 2 hydrogen bonds

having 4 bases instead of two is important in transcribing genetic information, as each triplet of bases will code for a particular codon of mRNA. This mRNA codon is then translated by the ribosome to give a particular amino acid

If there were less than 4 bases then the DNA wouldn't be able to store as much genetic info and having more would be unnecessary.

ADB Consulting helps small and medium-sized businesses with the resources, expertise, and labor required to launch products using printed circuit boards (PCBs). The PCBs we assemble comply with standards adopted by ISO 9001-2000, as well as any other requirements that are relevant to the customer, such as local environmental or other regulations....
