Default Delta G Free Energy Calculation Mitochondrial Membrane



Assuming the membrane potential across the inner mitochondrial membrane is 60 mV (negative inside), how much free energy is released during the flow of 1 mole of H+ through the FoF1‐ATP synthase into the matrix? How many H+ ions must flow back to synthesize 1 mole of ATP? (ΔG of ATP formation is 58 kJ/mol under cellular conditions)
