Default Regarding biological energy

"During cellular respiration 38 ATP molecules can be made per a single glucose molecule (2 from glycolysis, 2 from the Krebs cycle, and about 34 from the electron transport system). if a human body (on average) needs 2400 kcal energy per day, calculate amount of glucose that is enough four our daily energy consumption."

This is my homework question and I am asking "Why then we a lot?"
