Default GC-MS or TLC-MS for total lipid analysis

Can anybody help me with some lipid work.....?
I am new to the LIPID world and I have some very interesting filamentous fungal mutants showing some lipid mobility defect.....I would like to do a total lipid analysis of the same....What would be the best? GC-MS or TLC-MS?

And also would like to get some good protocols and suggestions for the same.

looking forward for some reply..

Hi,
As per my suggestion, lipids can be analyzed in a better way using GC/MS. GC/MS specifically helps in structural determination of unknown organic compounds in complex mixtures with a greater sensitivity and offers a better resolution.
Software support for such analysis is available from Premier Biosoft's SimLipid:
