I very much still like science. But there are a lot of engineer/science stop-out, drop-outs; people that move out of the specialized field and do something else.
I read a govt report saying that it,s actually a great benefit to other fields and businesses to get the eng/science trained people for various reasons.
So I would suggest you confidently apply to jobs that interest you, and keep in mind that you have the intellectual tools to catch up in knowledge in a new field.
