| why is homologous recombination a rare event in plant as compared to animals |

| A friend told me it's because plants just don't have recombinases and topoisomerases. As simple as that. Correct me if I'm wrong =) |

| They dont have the exact same enzyme as found in animal system, they do undergo dna replication and repair so have similar enzymes which confer the same ability as Topioisomerase and recombinase, they also have rEc A, so i really dont understand as to why this event is rare. |
