| Hey out there Arabidopsis folk, Quick question for you all. I have read snippets suggesting that Arabidopsis contains endogenous biotin. So my question is whether this poses a problem for applications like ELISA in which I am using Streptavidin labelled with Alkaline Phosphatase to bind an antibody labelled with biotin? Could I be getting high background in protein extracts because Streptavidin-AP is binding to Arabidopsis' native biotin molecules? If so, what can I do about this? Thanks in advance, M |
