| Postdoctoral position in Evolutionary Genomics A fulltime postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Renyi Liu in the Department of Botany & Plant Sciences at the University of California, Riverside. The primary focus of the research is to investigate the evolutionary mechanisms underlying the diversification and adaptation of plants and bacteria, and the origin and evolution of complex systems. Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in evolutionary genetics/genomics, bioinformatics/computational biology, or related disciplines. Computational competence and strong background in evolutionary and/or molecular genetics are essential. Familiarity with Unix/Linux environment and databases is desirable. Experience in analyzing sequence and gene expression data is preferred. The start date is flexible and can be as early as September 1, 2007. The position has guaranteed funding for two years. Continuation is contingent on performance and availability of funding. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
