Default Tenure-track faculty position

Arabinetters, please take note of the following advertisement for a
tenure-track faculty position.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
PLANT MOLECULAR & CELLULAR BIOLOGY
The Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology (BCMB) Department
at the University of Tennessee seeks to fill a tenure-track position
at the assistant professor level to begin August 2005. Applications
from candidates who will take genetic/genomic approaches to problems
in plant molecular/cellular biology are particularly welcome. The
successful candidate for this position will join a recently
consolidated group in plant molecular & cellular biology within the
BCMB Department and will have opportunities to interact with other
plant biologists in the College of Arts and Sciences and the College
of Agriculture and Natural Resources, as well as cell biologists,
geneticists and structural biologists elsewhere on campus and at the
nearby Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The University of Tennessee is
the major state institution for training and education of
undergraduate and graduate students and the person filling this
position will share with other biologists teaching responsibilities
in both undergraduate and graduate programs, particularly in plant
physiology, and molecular and cellular biology. Required
qualifications include a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience in
relevant areas of plant biology, evidence of significant scientific
productivity, and a commitment to an integrated program of teaching
and research. Interested candidates should send a resume, a
description of the proposed research program, and the names and phone
numbers of three individuals who can provide letters of reference to:
Ms. Julia Collins, Plant Biology Search Committee, BCMB Department,
M407 WLS, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN 37996-0840. Review
of applications will begin on December 10, 2004 and continue until
the position is filled.
