| The Carolina Postdoctoral Program for Faculty Diversity The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill As part of a continuing Commitment to advance underrepresented scholars in higher education, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is pleased to announce the availability of several positions in the Carolina Postdoctoral Program for Faculty Diversity. If Postdoctoral Scholars would like to teach they can, but not more than one course per year, and will spend essentially full time on research. Applications for study in any discipline represented at the University are welcome. The Department of Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill strongly encourages candidates interested in plant biology to apply. The Stipend will be $34,625 per calendar year. Health benefits are available. Some funds are available for research expenses including travel. Minority students who will have completed their doctoral degree no later than July 1, 2004, and no earlier than July 1, 2000 are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. This program is funded by the State of North Carolina and places emphasis on underrepresented minorities. A complete application will include curriculum vitae, sample publications and/or dissertation chapters, a statement of research plans, three letters of recommendation, an application and a statement of why you should be selected for the program.
