Faculty Position in Dept. of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at
 
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology invites
applications for a tenure-track faculty position, as part of an
ongoing program to recruit several new faculty members over the next
three to four years. Individuals using molecular, biochemical and
genetic approaches to address fundamental cell biological questions
in areas that complement existing campus strengths

These include, but are not limited to control of gene expression,
protein and organelle biogenesis, structure/function of membrane
proteins and the cytoskeleton, and mechanisms of signal transduction.
While we expect to hire at the ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level,
applications from senior scientists will be considered for
appointment at the ASSOCIATE or FULL PROFESSOR level. The successful
candidate will have access to students from several interdisciplinary

participate in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Five College Consortium comprising Smith College, Amherst
College, Mount Holyoke College, Hampshire College, and the University
of Massachusetts, Amherst provides a rich academic and intellectual
environment. The Town of Amherst is situated in the beautiful, rural
Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, with convenient access to
the metropolitan New York and Boston areas, as well as a multitude of
recreational resources.
