Junior Group Leader Position in Plant Biology (ma=EEtre-assistant)
Department of Plant Molecular Biology, University of Lausanne

We are seeking a young motivated plant biologist to join a newly
formed Department of Plant Molecular Biology. We are particularly
interested in candidates who could use the tools of cell biology and
microscopy to study membrane proteins and in particular ion
transporters. The candidate will be expected to build up a research
program and attract external funding. The Department of Plant
Molecular Biology has excellent facilities in cell and molecular
biology, including electron and confocal microscopy, growth chamber
facilities and a cDNA microarray platform. Lausanne and the Leman
area offer an outstanding living environment.

The position involves some teaching in a laboratory course in
molecular biology as well as contribution to the organization of
seminars. Teaching is done in French and the candidate is expected to
commit to learn French if not already proficient. The position is
available for up to a maximum of six years starting on March 1st 2004
or soon thereafter.
