Default What are two examples of apoptosis (cell death) in prenatal development?



I know that it is an important part in the development of the brain, but I'm having trouble finding two examples.

neurogenesis could be seen as the birth of neurons
it is the mitotic cell division of stem cell differentiation (see "cell potency")
from this event they migrate from the neural tube (see gastrulation)
as they migrate to location they morph (differentiate) again
i.e. to a type neuron, or glial cell
once they are at their destination there is cell to cell communication
for instance neurons in the spinal area will receive nerve growth factor NGF
a chemical called a neurotrophin (see synaptogenesis)

if they don't receive enough NGF they will never establish a strong enough connection
they will apoptose to make room for neurons that do make connection
