 Apoptosis v. necrosis? I am having a little trouble regarding the differences between apoptosis and necrosis. Now, apoptosis may involve a single cell whereas necrosis always involves multiple cells. Is this true?? Am I correct in my statement?? Did I understand this correctly? If anyone could help elaborate it more for me would be fantastic. 10 Points!!!  |

| apoptosis is programmed cell death. there are certain cells in the body that die after a certain time, or if a cell is damaged beyond repair, the cell can decide to die. necrosis is premature death of tissues or cells. this can be caused by infection, acute trauma, or any external factor. |
