| From my Real-Time PCR analysis I saw upregulation of pro-apoptotic proteins, but people are arguing that I need to also consider cell cycle arrest in my studies. I would like to show experimentally that my cells (hEPC's, HUVEC, hESC) are undergoing apoptosis and not cell cycle arrest. What is the best way to show this? FAC's or staining would be best for my lab, but I'm willing to try anything. Thanks! |

| Facs analysis and looking and comparing the sub G1 with the G1 peak. Another good indicator for apoptosis is to do western blot with antibodies against phospho-H2AX, which is a histone protein and only phosphorylated when DNA double strand breaks occur. |
