Default High Through Annexin V Assay

We are looking to measure apoptosis via annexin v staining and would like to utilize a 96 well plate format. Can anyone recomend a reliable assay for this?

Thanks.

Default Re: High Through Annexin V Assay

Cellomics will give you both quantitative and qualitative data.

I recommend you use PI (if you use anexinV-FITC) or BOBO (if you use annexin-alexa568) to discriminate apoptosis/necrosis. Also you should use Hoechst or DAPI for counterstaining. You are looking at apoptosis in adherent cultures. Dying cells might detach from the substrate which leads to underestimation of apoptotic events. You might want to use a collagen gel that trap detaching cells.
