| How is apoptosis related to mitosis or meiosis? |

| Some hinge factor such as p53 are involved both in proliferation and apoptosis. Due to their regulatory mechanisms they can either be involved in apoptosis or proliferation which are antagonist mechanism. You cannot say in the same time to a cell "divide you and die". |
