wow. i just did a paper on stem cell research it is very interesting. but i am torn between both sides. you are saving someones life by curing their disease, but you are killing the baby. i dont like the idea, but i wouldnt want them to ban it.

I believe in both because I am a logical Christian. Both contribute positively to our society. Why do they think that stem cell research only includes aborted fetuses? Don't they understand that stem cells can be obtained from many sources such as umblilcal cord blood from born babies, as well as from adults. I'm sure they'd want it if a family member could be cured with stem cells.

I don't agree with the death penalty, i had to write a paper on it once and to many innocent people are killed, for something they didn't do. The only time i would agree with it was if they had enough evidence to prove that they 100% did it.

The way that most stem cells are harvested involves the termination of a life. As far as God is concerned, a life is formed at the moment of conception and aborting that life intentionally at any time is murder. The death penalty is another matter altogether. The Israelites had the death penalty, but then again God directed the judges in Israel to a fair judgement and there were checks and balances in place to prevent innocents from dying. There are undoubtedly many in the prison system who are deserving of death for what they've done. But an imperfect justice system is a dangerous place to have something like the death penalty. Fortunately God can read hearts and knows exactly what happened in each case. He will be the final judge and no one guilty will go unpunished.

Those who have been sentenced to death have received that judgment after years of trials by jury and have been convicted of doing things that are unimaginably horrible. The fetuses have committed nothing and have been convicted of nothing, yet they also have a death sentence passed on them. Though I haven't made up my mind about stem cell research, I have been struck by the irony...
