Apoptosis can be caused by a variety of factors including:

- oxidative stress

- physical stress

- mechanical stress

- chemical damage

- UV damage

- inflammatory damage

- freezing / heat damage

- and many others!

Antioxidants, VIT D and K, Chemotheraputic agents, radioisotopes... Apoptosis also naturally occurs in cells.
