Post Fake Antibody and scientists said YES !!

Dear Scientific friends,

I spent half of my PhD working with wrong antibodies. My boss wants me to publish a short communication regarding my failed work. Can somebody here suggest me some model papers where scientists thought they had the right anitbody for a protein for many years, and finally it was revealed that, this antibody was recognising something else. I overheard that this was the case for telomerase. Please provide the link of the suitable papers. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Satbabs

Maybe cite the Santa Cruz antibody catalog!!! I kid.

Sounds like a real bummer, hope you are able to publish it. If many people have published using the same ab that you have found to be non-specific I think it should be put into the public domain and that it is worthwhile publishing, so best of luck to you!
