Default Effect of different agarose concentrations

Hi folks,

Could somebody plz help me by explaining the effect of different agarose concentrations in an agarose gel?

Will the resolution or the band separation improved by higher concentrations?

Thx in advance

The higher the concentration of agarose in a gel (for DNA electrophoresis), the less the migration of the DNA bands but the better the resolution of them (DNA bands).

In other words, it is the resolution what gets improved by higher concentrations, while lower concentration favour faster migration.
