I am doing some PCR-RFLP (Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism) and running samples on a Polyacrilamyde gel (6%) and silver staining to visualize DNA fragments.
The issue is: Some of my restriction enzymes need BSA to work, the problem is that it also stains and appear as a thick band above the DNA fragments of interest. Although this does not interfere in the visualization it does not let me take a clear and big picture as I have to cut it to avoid picturing BSA band.
I send the pic. I am asking for suggestions on how to get rid or at least take out of the picture the thick BSA band. By the way, in the pic I attached the above band is BSA and the below bands are DNA fragments.
