| Hi, need help answering these two questions. How come one can’t you run electrophoresis in water? And what happens to the DNA in the gel? Thanks mfupa |

| There are less ions in water, and basically none in pure/distilled water so you would not get a current and no negative or positive poles - DNA/RNA or protein would not migrate if it was charged |
