Molecular Bio help needed - Electrophoresis

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out a question for homework, it basically asks how it is possible to see plasmid bands when the stain (gel red) was not put in the lane of the plasmid in question?
* In another lane in the same gel the sample did get gel red added to it
any ideas?

I'm not quite sure what you mean? Normally DNA stains aren't added to individual lains, they're either mixed into the gel before casting, added to the running buffer or the gel is stained after the electrophoresis is run.
