| Hey, I need help in knowing how to determine the amount of concentration DNA that is present after doing gel electrophoresis. I performed a gel with 3 different volumes of the same marker and 3 different volumes of the same sample of DNA. The 3 volumes are 12ul, 6ul and 3 ul for both parts. By visual comparison my 12ul of sample DNA is visually similar to the 6ul of the marker. I was wondering how to determine the concentration of DNA given that and some ot her information: Sample DNA was orginally a plasmid that had been cut and the density is 1ug/ul. The amount of sample DNA I had was 66uL. Can someone please help me to determine the concentration of DNA there is in the 12ul band? Last edited by BrianGumble; 02-03-2010 at 09:17 PM. |

| Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the mass of the marker DNA seems to be around 24ng. No spectrophotometer was used. Last edited by BrianGumble; 02-03-2010 at 08:50 PM. |
