Troubleshooting Streaking of 2-D Gels

Hi all, I am having troubles with 2-D gels lately. My gels keep streaking vertically. Has anyone had this problem lately and have any solutions?

I solve my vertical streaking by reducing the total protein loaded.
But as the guide points out, longer equilibration time and fresh SDS electrophoresis buffer may solve the problem.

thanks a lot for that guide! I have repeated it with the suggestions and it looks much better
