Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure Science. Udstyret med hans fem sanser, mennesket udforsker universet omkring ham og kalder eventyr Science. ~Edwin Powell Hubble, The Nature of Science, 1954 ~ Edwin Powell Hubble, The Art of Science, 1954
Peptide synthesis is the creation of peptides using organic chemistry, which are organic macromolecule compounds which are composed of short chains of multiple amino acids connected to each other through peptide bonds.
One amino acid is combined with the amino group of another by binding the carboxyl groups together to synthesize strings of amino acids or peptides. Similar to the synthesis of proteins in the cell, peptides are synthesized synthetically from the C-terminus (Carboxyl) to the N-terminus (Amine).
Antimicrobial peptides have been recently used as anti-microbial agents.
